Red Rooster Harlem
310 Lenox Avenue
New York, NY 10027

Ah, the famed Red Rooster! What a great spot to go enjoy a meal, some live music, or a drink. The Red Rooster was brought to Harlem to celebrate the history of the neighborhood and provide an authentic soul food experience. Head chef, Marcus Samuelsson, has received international recognition for his work with past restaurants and has also been featured by The New York Times. Chef Samuelsson has also been seen on Chopped and won season 2 of Top Chef Masters. Chef Samuelsson provided the food for President Obama’s first state dinner.

The feel of the restaurant is historic; there are pieces from New York City artists surrounding the walls and allowing customers to have an authentic Harlem experience. Like many neighborhoods in NYC, Harlem has its own personality and Red Rooster brings the personality to one spot where you can wine and dine and enjoy live music.

Now for the food. The cornbread is one of the biggest hits because of how tasty and moist it is. Another is the mac and cheese. Both of these are classic soul food dishes which Chef Samuelsson makes perfectly. The creaminess od the mac and cheese combined with the crunch of breadcrumbs is decadent and warms my soul. The Red Rooster is a wonderful depiction of Harlem and soul food and deserves visits from all of us. It has many people trying to get a stable though, so reservations are highly suggested, especially on weekends. Go check it out and let us know what you think!

Hopefully you love it as much as we do.
