A TALE OF TWO SISTERS
Iryna and Liliia were born in a small town in central Ukraine. They lived in a pleasant apartment with their parents in a convenient part of their town within walking distance of restaurants, shops, and a park.
After the war started on February 24th, 2022, they lived in fear, waking every night to endless sirens and rocket launches and having to shelter. Four months later, after making the difficult decision to leave, they landed in the USA, first staying with family members in Sacramento, CA. New York called when Iryna was offered a job in her profession. She works as a dental assistant.
They became familiar with different neighborhoods by staying in Airbnb's until they walked into a building in the Marble Hill section of the Bronx and were referred to Annie Hawkins of Sovereign Associates. Annie took them under her wing, and from there on, the process moved swiftly and smoothly. Annie found them their apartment within their price range in 10-12 days, walking them through all the requirements and informing them of essential tips for their application, giving them the tools to maximize their chances of approval. They signed the paperwork & moved in the following weekend.
