Your Local Sports: Columbia Athletics
533 W. 218th Street (west of Broadway), New York, NY 10034
Lots of people love sports, Sovereign Associates included, but the price of tickets can make attending in-person, cost prohibitive, especially if you’re a college student. A great option is to attend local sporting events, all of the excitement, without the heavy price tag.
Columbia University houses their athletics at the Baker Field Complex on 218th street. Over the years it has grown to be an impressive world-class athletics complex. The facility houses everything from Archery to Wrestling and just about every sport in-between.
In 2016, the Rocco B Commisso Soccer Field was renovated to have a removable dome making it possible for sports teams to play through the winter. It also made it possible to protect fans on a cold winter’s day as thet cheer on their faviorte players and teams.
Attending a local game produces much of the same excitement and passion of a professional game and allows you to build relationships with other local fans. As a D1 athletics department, the Ivy League attracts some incredible athletes and provides quality competition. With the exception of football, which is moderately priced, all of sporting events are free.
The players can serve as role models for kids and attending is a great family event, visit the Fan Zone special events for kids of all ages! Check out the schedule, grab the kids, some friends, your partner and enjoy rooting locally!
